2025 MIDDLE SCHOOL SUMMER CAMPS

The middle school camp is designed for campers looking to try out for their school team and compete at a competitive level. The instruction will be more  advanced and more individual specific. Individual defensive instruction at each position will also be provided. Analytic data will also be used to help the teaching process.

Game simulations will be used to teach during the camp as well.

Check In will take place the first day of each camp

COST INCLUDES: $5 towards the "Snack Bank" for  the week during camp breaks and UAB Baseball T-shirt.

LOCATION: The 2025 UAB Baseball Middle School Camps will be held at Young  Memorial Field on the campus of UAB. The physical address of YMF is 840 12th St S Birmingham, Alabama 35233

INSTRUCTION: The camp will cover fundamentals of throwing, hitting, fielding,  pitching, and base running. In addition campers will participate in camp games and challenges each day.

GROUPS: Campers divided by age into small groups, keeping the coach to player ratio low.  They will have the opportunity to be placed with friends at camp.

WEATHER: We will have access to a large indoor facility and turf fields to handle potential weather.

UAB BASEBALL & CAMP STAFF: The Summer Baseball Camp staff will be directed  by Head Coach Casey Dunn. In addition the camp staff will include: current UAB players, college players from the local area, and local high school coaches.

• BJ Green - Director of Pitching
Current Pitching Coach UAB Baseball. Coach Green is a former Alabama Baseball Pitcher from Gardendale. He has served as the pitching coach at the University of Alabama, Georgia Southern, and now UAB. Coach Green will oversee all pitching instruction.

• Brad Moss - Catcing & Hitting Coach at UAB

Brad Moss works with catchers and hitters at UAB. In his 7 year coaching career, he has won 4 conference championships, been to 2 regionals, and tutored several power 5 transfers and MLB draft picks. 
Moss began his coaching career by spending two years as an assistant at University of Montevallo, 1 year at Lawson State Community college and his last 5 years were spent at Samford University, his Alma mater. Moss was a free agent for the San Francisco Giants after starting four years behind the plate for the Samford Bulldogs from 2009-2012.

• Parker Curry - Director of Pitching Development for UAB Baseball.

Coach Curry works closely with Coach Green in analyzing Trackman data, scouting reports, and development plans with Blazer pitchers. Prior to coaching, he spent time pitching in professional baseball in the Dodgers organization.

• Brandon Moore - Director of Defense/Hitting
Coach Moore will be serving as Director of Player Development starting in the fall. He is coming from Oneonta High School but has previously served in various roles with the Chicago White Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Kansas City Royals. Coach Moore served as  hitting coach and infield instructor as high as AAA.

• UAB Players and Former Players
Current and Former Players will be serving as instructors as well. Our athletes will mainly be instructing the younger athletes.

REFUND POLICY: There is a NO REFUND policy for the camp. If you are unable to attend for any reason, we will happily transfer the camp fee to a later camp. If the camps are forced to be delayed or pushed back for any reason we will also transfer the camp fee to later in the summer or the next year as needed. We will insure the fees will be applied to a full week of camp.
